• He began his study of Tang Soo Do in 1982
• Received 1st Dan in 1985 from the International TSD Association
• Received 2nd Dan in 1990 from the International TSD Association
• Received 3rd Dan in 1992 from World Moo Duk Kwan TSD Federation under Grandmaster Jae Joon Kim
• Received 4th Dan in 1996 from International TSD Federation -U.K. under Grandmaster Lee Kang Uk
• Received 5th Dan in 2001 from International TSD Federation-U.S.A. under Grandmaster Fred Scott
• Received 6th Dan in 2009 from Traditional TSD International under Grandmaster Fred Scott
• Master Ott also received his 7th Dan in Aiki-Jutso from Grandmaster Neil Stellenberg in 2002
• Master Ott appeared in Black Belt magazine in October, 1997 and Inside Karate Magazine in July, 1997
• Master Ott has also produced instructional DVD’s for Tang Soo Do gup ranks.
